About the Artist

 B. 1996

Anna is a figurative painter, born in Arizona and raised primarily in Northern Utah. She obtained a BFA in Drawing and Painting from Laguna College of Art and Design, where she studied the fundamentals of academic realism. She takes inspiration from the pre-Raphaelite and American Impressionist movements, as well as more contemporary abstract elements, with the intention of combining these influences in her own work. Anna has participated in multiple group shows through LCAD and has work in personal collections across the United States. She is currently based in Southern California, where she lives with her wife and their four cats.

Artist Statement:

My goal is to capture the timelessness and ethereality that exists in the relationship between a figure and their environment. By combining techniques rooted in representational realism with impressionist and edgy abstract influences, I intend for my work to exist at a junction between beauty and intense atmosphere and mood. I am searching for a quality that is somehow beyond the natural world but also deeply and universally human.
